In partnership with the AST, the ASTS, and the Arnold Foundation, we are conducting a survey about transplant quality/regulatory metrics. Please complete our brief survey by April 15, 2017 to help ensure that most appropriate metrics are used to regulate transplant centers. Responses are anonymous. Results will help us better understand the strengths and weaknesses of measures currently used for CMS/SRTR quality regulation and inform the design of alternative metrics.
Take the survey.
Thank you for your consideration,

Use of interferon and ribavirin to treat chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in kidney transplant recipients is limited because of the risk for allograft rejection and poor tolerability. The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the interferon- and ribavirin-free regimen ledipasvir–sofosbuvir in kidney transplant recipients with chronic genotype 1 or 4 HCV infection.

Solid organ transplant recipients (SOTRs) are at increased risk of developing and dying from cancer. However, controversies exist around cancer screening in this population owing to reduced life expectancy and competing causes of death. This systematic review assesses the availability, quality and consistency of cancer screening recommendations in clinical practice guidelines (CPGs). We systematically searched bibliographic databases and gray literature to identify CPGs and assessed their quality using AGREE II.

The cardiac allocation system in France is currently based on urgency and geography. Medical urgency is defined by therapies without considering objective patient mortality risk factors. This study aimed to develop a waitlist mortality risk score from commonly available candidate variables. The study included all patients, aged 16 years or older, registered on the national registry CRISTAL for first single-organ heart transplantation between January 2010 and December 2014.

Peri-operative terlipressin (Tp) during living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) has been shown to reduce intra-operative portal pressures and improve renal function. Its role and safety profile has never been evaluated in a double-blinded RCT. The aim of this study was to evaluate the haemodynamic effects, clinical benefits and safety of peri-operative terlipressin infusion in adult LDLT.

Ever since the discovery of the major histocompatibility complex, scientific and clinical understanding in the field of transplantation has been advanced through genetic and genomic studies. Candidate-gene approaches and recent genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have enabled a deeper understanding of the complex interplay of the donor–recipient interactions that lead to transplant tolerance or rejection.
