The AST is seeking feedback from its membership for its Policy Committee to review as it prepares responses on behalf of the Society for Board review and approval. The Federal Register
In response to President Trump's July 10 signing of an executive order to advance kidney care, CMS is putting forth a public comment related to its Medicare Programs, including ESRD prospective payment system, payment for renal dialysis services furnished to those with acute kidney injury and an ESRD renal disease quality incentive program. This comment period closes on September 27, 2019.
The Society will be submitting a response, seeking feedback from its membership for Board consideration and approval. If you wish to submit your thoughts for consideration as part of this process, please submit your comments to info@myast.org by close of business on Monday, September 2, with the subject line CMS public comment feedback.

This study evaluated the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of various doses of the anti‐CD40 monoclonal antibody bleselumab (ASKP1240) in de novo kidney transplant recipients receiving concomitant standard immunosuppression over 90 days post‐transplant. Transplant recipients were randomized (1:1:1:1:1) to bleselumab 50 mg, 100 mg, 200 mg, or 500 mg, or placebo, in addition to standard maintenance immunosuppression.

Acute cellular rejection (ACR) is a significant risk factor for chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD). While clinically‐manifest and higher‐grade (≥A2) ACR is generally treated with augmented immunosuppression, management of minimal (grade A1) ACR remains controversial.
