Open positions on the Board of Directors include President-Elect, Treasurer (two-year term), and three Councilors-at-Large (three-year terms). Submitting an abstract to the American Transplant Congress means that it will be peer reviewed and may be accepted for either an oral or a poster presentation. All accepted abstracts will be published in an online Supplement to The American Journal of Transplantation (AJT), the Joint Journal of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) and American Society of Transplantation (AST).

Conventional reconstructive techniques using free vascularised tissue flaps with penile implants are undesirable in this often socioeconomically challenged group because donor site morbidity can hinder manual labour and vigorous sexual activity might lead to penile implant extrusion.

There are over 90,000 patients in the United States waiting for a kidney transplant. Under the current allocation policy, the vast majority of deceased organs are allocated locally. This causes significant disparities in waiting times and access to transplant across different geographical areas. To ameliorate this inequity, we propose an operational solution that offers affordable jet services (OrganJet) to patients on the transplant waiting list, allowing them to list in multiple different, and possibly very distant, donation service areas (DSAs) of their choosing.

Kidney Allocation System (KAS) was enacted in 2014 to improve graft utility, while facilitating transplantation of highly-sensitized patients and preserving pediatric access to high-quality kidneys. Central to this system is the Kidney Donor Profile Index (KDPI), a metric intended to predict transplant outcomes based on donor characteristics but derived using only adult donors. We posited that KAS had inadvertently altered the profile and quantity of kidneys made available to pediatric recipients.
