Regents to Hear Montana Spinoff Proposal Focused on Early
Childhood Education

Three University of Montana employees are asking the state Board of Regents for approval to take a product developed at the school into the private sector, creating a potential new startup focused on children's education. The request marks the latest product developed by UM employees with commercial potential and follows the successes of past spinoffs.

University of Maryland, Baltimore Invests $100,000 in Harpoon Medical
The University of Maryland, Baltimore has announced that it has invested $100,000 in Harpoon Medical. The first equity investment University of Maryland Ventures — a joint initiative of UMB and University of Maryland, College Park to commercialize technologies and grow industry collaboration — has made in a company, the funding completes Harpoon Medical's $3.6 million Series A financing.

Candidates Selected for AUTM Election
Voting for AUTM's 2015 Board of Directors begins Dec. 5. View the biography and position statement for each of the selected candidates.

Deadline is Nov. 21 for qualified members interested in running for office to petition to be added to the ballot. Qualifications can be found in the position descriptions. Visit the board nominations page for more details regarding nomination process and timelines.
