Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association – Organizational Purpose and Mission

• The purpose of Canada East Equipment Dealers' Association is to promote and enhance the general welfare of retail equipment dealers primarily in the Province of Ontario and Maritime Provinces.

• Our mission is to promote and enhance the general welfare of our dealer members by providing a timely source of industry information, representing dealer interests in government regulation and legislation, enhancing dealer and employee education, supporting equitable dealer/manufacturer relations and offering specific business-related services which enhance the success and profitability of dealer members.

Boat sales in Canada up 13 per cent

With names like Aqua Patio and Parti Kraft, the gentle pontoon boat, with its easy access and affordable starting price, is helping propel Canadian boat sales to post-recession highs. But so, too, is the powerful sport jetboat, a kind of personal watercraft on steroids that leading brand Sea-Doo says promises a "mind-bending rush of adrenalin" with seating for more than two. Sales of recreational boats in Canada rose 13 per cent last year, finally turning the tide after the recession of 2008, according to Canada's leading marine manufacturers. More

John Deere's 5E tractor series is now available with a factory fitted cab, intended to broaden the appeal of this entry level agricultural tractor in the U.K. The cab is made in India where the tractors are also manufactured, and shares styling with the 5M/5R series. The 5E series ranges from 55-75hp, with the largest model being the biggest seller. More

Halliburton, Apache and Caterpillar develop dual-fuel technology

Halliburton, Apache Corporation and Caterpillar have developed dual-fuel technology capable of powering the pumping equipment used for fracturing treatments with a mixture of natural gas and diesel. Halliburton said that it developed a technical solution for converting the pumping equipment used at a typical large-scale fracturing spread to a dual-fuel system including natural gas one that would be more efficient and cleaner-burning than using diesel alone. The Italian-built range includes three unusually-named models – the ultra-versatile Carla, ag-spec Camilla and the Katia which is designed for contractors. BMW purchased Husqvarna back in 2007, and by then the famous Swedish builder was actually operating in northern Italy, in tandem with MV Agusta in Varese. While Husky continues to operate independently and produce their core full-blown off-road machines, the BMW ownership first bore affiliated fruit last year with the Supermoto-styled Nuda 900 twin, based on the F800GS. Sadly, we don't get the successful, trick Nuda here in North America, but the Terra and Strada are on their way. More
