State Comptroller Kevin Lembo announced that Connecticut will end the year with a $207.8 million deficit. Since that is more than 1 percent of the general fund, it will require the Governor to draft a deficit mitigation plan for the General Assembly to consider and possibly adopt. Either way, the state constitution requires the legislature to bring the budget back into balance.
