How do you manage a company from a stakeholder value maximization perspective?
After I wrote about the excesses of shareholder value maximization, a reader asked me if I knew of any such methodologies. It is a legitimate question: How do you weigh the concerns of assorted stakeholders ranging from shareholders to clients to employees and the local community?

World GDP is going through a collapse of activity only seen during war time; however, policy makers have also been quicker to respond than in past crises. If you're concerned about the unpredictable performance of vulnerable assets during this recessionary environment, then it's probably time to reassess your positions on fixed income assets in your portfolio.
As a result of the recent stock market sell-off, companies were prompted to either cut or delay divided payments to fixed income investors.
In a cash-producing portfolio, "Dividends are paid as an amount per share," says Adam Coons, a portfolio manager and trader at Winthrop Capital Management in Indianapolis.

In the last one- and three-month period we have seen some steady inflows in the value space, despite some extreme market volatility. For example, one month ago, the S&P 500 was almost 34% off of its all-time highs to March 23. And today, one month later? The S&P 500 is only 16% off its all-time high to April 24, which means it gained almost 27% in that period. Pretty incredible when you think about everything the world has gone through.

When making decisions about how to save your money or invest, a lot can go right, and a lot can go wrong. I’ve found that people often make irrational choices with their money. For instance, someone might want safety, but when you look at their portfolio, it’s heavily weighted toward risky investments. When your choices don’t lead you to the goals you are trying to achieve, you owe it to yourself to find a better way. And there can be a better way, even though it might not be the popular way or what you expected.

The aviation, oil, and gas industries have been inexorably changed.
Still, Dan Zwirn, chief executive and CIO of Arena Investors, believes they will be areas of future investment opportunities for the firm. In a letter to investors obtained by Institutional Investor, Zwirn wrote that aviation, oil, and gas “are areas that actually did experience permanent damage as a result of the virus.”

Private equity investments have been a major source of capital in India over the last few years.
In 2019, PE and venture capital investments in India totaled US$48 billion, or 1.7% of gross domestic product (GDP). While that constitutes only 5.7% of the $845 billion in total global PE investments, the figure has quadrupled since 2014, growing at a 32% CAGR compared to a relatively modest 8.4% CAGR worldwide.

As the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (also known as Covid-19) surges past 2.8 million globally, and exceeds 954,000 total in the United States, it’s safe to say that fear swirling around this communicable disease is spreading as fast as the virus itself. While being reminded with daily updates on the death toll here at home and alarming numbers abroad (such as Italy, where fatalities have approached 24,000), it is difficult to remain calm in the face of such primal fear.
