The Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2019 Bones and Phones Scholarship. Dr. Kayla Cyr from Memorial University of Newfoundland receives the award for her role in EDUCATE: IPV, a project which focuses on intimate partner violence (IPV) and its prevalence in fracture clinics.
As a local IPV champion Dr. Cyr delivered the EDUCATE program to orthopaedic surgeons and health-care providers working in fracture clinics in St. John's, training them to recognize and combat intimate partner violence.
