    The Kincardine chapter of the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association or COPA wants to have more say in the future of the Kincardine Airport. Spokesperson Chris McCullough was speaking to town council recently and invited the municipality to use the 50-plus pilots living in the region, as a resource. McCullough says the pilots want to see the airport grow and expand in the future. More

    The Honourable Steven Fletcher, Minister of State (Transport), joined by John S. Pistole, Transportation Security Administration's Administrator, has announced the extension of the pre-check lanes to Canadian NEXUS members, making air travel smarter and faster within the United States. As of Nov. 15, 2012, Canadians who are members of the NEXUS program travelling within the U.S will be able to use their NEXUS cards for expedited screening at 27 participating U.S. airports. More

    Companies shortlisted for Iqaluit airport construction

    Three teams of companies have been shortlisted for the Iqaluit International Airport Improvement Project. It is the largest capital project ever for the Nunavut Government — a new terminal, lighting, runway upgrades and other fixes are expected to cost between $250 million and $300 million. The Nunavut Government has hired Partnerships BC, a Crown corporation, to help award the contract. More

    Deer Lake airport expands parking

    Officials at Deer Lake Regional Airport have added almost 200 new parking spots to meet the increasing demand for long-term parking created by people who live in western Newfoundland and use the airport frequently. "Just recently, this past week, we opened up an additional 198 spaces which gives us a total of 875 spaces," said Jamie Schwartz, president and CEO of the airport. More

    Visitors to Parliament Hill would have been surprised to see a low-flying helicopter, something that is not usually allowed in the area. But this one had special permission to fly low so a camera mounted on the front could shoot scenes for a new attraction that will open in Vancouver next spring. More
