    Pratt & Whitney Canada and Viking Air Limited have announced they have entered into a 10-year General Terms Agreement to supply PT6 engines, including the PT6A-34 for the Twin Otter aircraft. The announcement was made during the National Business Aviation Association's 65th annual meeting and convention in Orlando, FL. P&WC is a United Technologies company. More

    The value of Halifax Stanfield International Airport as a Nova Scotia asset increased by about $11 million to a total of $1.26 billion in 2011, says the facility's operator. An economic impact report released by Halifax International Airport Authority said the airport and its partners had tremendous impact last year on Halifax and the province as an economic generator and growth creator.     It only took five days to reach an agreement between the Deer Lake Regional Airport and the 15 members of the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees Local 90945. The details of the new contract have not been released, but Wayne Fagan, regional union vice-president said the workers, which include, runway clearing, firefighting and administrative services received 'essentially the existing contract' with some monetary gains. Those gains, he said, included such items as clothing allowances, meal allowances and pay raises. More
