TB Testing
Are you TB testing new hires such as seasonal lifeguards, swim instructors and camp counselors? Do you require them to get it on their own or do you send them to a clinic? Is the agency or the employee paying for the TB test? Do you require outside contractors who teach specialty camps/programs to provide proof of TB testing? Thank you for your input. Oakland District 1 meeting connects residents, city service reps

Residents of Oakland's City Council District 1 learned how to make the right connections for city services at a town-hall meeting organized by Councilman Dan Kalb. Representatives of city departments including Public Works, Planning and Community Development, Parks and Recreation, the Oakland Public Library and others who deal with residents' needs stood at tables handing out information to visitors.

Mill Valley Historical Society proposes historical map installation
City of Mill Valley via Mill Valley Patch
The Mill Valley Historical Society seeks Parks and Recreation Commission approval at its next meeting to install a piece of local history in Old Mill Park. The project centers on a 2009 discovery of a decades-old painting of a trail map laden with informal hiking trails that existed back in 1949.

City employee indicted for stealing more than $400,000
Athletic Business
A former office manager for the Bloomington, Indiana parks and recreation department has been indicted by a federal grand jury on a wire fraud charge. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Judith Seigle allegedly stole more than $400,000 over a period of 13 years from the department. Seigle is the second city employee in less than a year that has been charged with taking money intended for use by the city.
