The ADA National Network created a Tool Kit to provide information, guidance and training on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Also on the site is a media kit, event and celebration ideas and other resources.

Burk shifts from public works to public parks

Duane Burk may have only started his job as director of the Beaumont-Cherry Valley Recreation and Park District a couple of weeks ago, but he has effectively been a component of its growth for the past 30 years. Banning's former public works director resigned May 16 from the city, and assumed his new position with the park district on July 6.

Managers' perceptions of entry-level job competencies when making hiring decisions for municipal recreation agencies
Long Beach State faculty in conjunction with CPRS surveyed personnel with hiring responsibilities. The outcome was published in the journal of Park and Recreation Administration in March 2015. Becoming Certified as a Playground Safety Inspector benefits both the public served, and those who oversee playgrounds as a service of quality control.
