Construction of trail along San Diego River set

Walkers, cyclists and equestrians will have a new 1.3-mile trail to traverse along the San Diego River by the end of next spring. Construction was expected to begin on the Walker Preserve Trail in an area in Santee that had been off-limits to the public for decades while it was being used for industrial sand mining.

Wyoming city using dogs to combat goose problem in local parks

The city of Cheyenne, Wyoming, is trying out a new technique to rid the local parks of the pesky goose problem. A Colorado-based company, Up and Away Goose Control, has been hired to use border collies to chase the geese out of the area.

Spokane and Richland Public Schools are the latest to implement a ban in response to the death of a 7-year-old Vancouver, Washington, girl who hit her head when she fell off a swing.
