Herald-Standard
At the intersection of medical treatment and evidence collection in cases of sexual assault stands a committed group of nurses in Fayette County who provide compassionate care and special forensic expertise: the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners. Reports of sexual assault dip at military academies
USA Today
Reports of sexual assaults among cadets and midshipmen declined at two of the three military academies, according to a Pentagon report. There were 53 sexual assaults reported at the academies during the 2012-13 school year compared with 58 reports in 2011-12. The Pentagon's study, scheduled for release Friday but obtained by USA TODAY, cautioned that officials cannot say with certainty that the decline "was due to fewer assaults occurring or due to fewer victims willing to report."

Breaking the silence surrounding sexual assault
The Daily Californian â opinion
Nicoletta Commins writes, “A few years ago, sexual violence was not something that crossed my mind very often. I knew it happened, probably more than I was aware of. But it happened to other women, not to anyone that I knew, and certainly not to me. In early 2012 when I invited a friend over to my apartment, things got out of hand, and before I knew it, he was gone and I had been sitting in the shower for more than an hour, bewildered and angry. In one night, my entire world was turned upside down.”
