NIJ has released a report based on retrospective DNA testing of physical evidence that had been retained in homicide and sexual assault convictions that occurred during a 15-year pre-DNA time period in Virginia. A Romanian MEP has condemned the fact female genital mutilation is still taking place in some parts of the world. According to Norica Nicolai of Romania's National Liberal Party, it is sad this "barbaric practice" continues to occur in the 21st century, the Parliament reports.
