Paul Bush, who has spearheaded the EventScotland agency for the last decade, has warned "more of the same is not an option" following a decade which saw the Ryder Cup, Commonwealth Games, the MTV Europe Music Awards and The Turner Prize lured to Scotland.

The city has canceled its agreement with a Los Angeles talent agency to produce concerts after the company failed to pull off either of its promised events this year. Los Angeles-based ICM Partners, which represents some of the biggest names in music, last year was granted exclusive access to the Gateway Mall over Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends to produce "world-class outdoor high-quality music festivals" under the "Summer Rocks" moniker.

After Chancellor Of The Exchequer George Osborne confirmed last week that the government’s review of business rates would now not report until next March, the live community has again expressed concern about that way the Valuation Office Agency — which advises the tax man on the taxable value of property – has been recommending business rates be applied to festival sites where previously no such payments were required.

Electronic music festival organizer SFX Entertainment Inc, which puts on days-long dance extravaganzas including New York's "Electric Zoo," is exploring a debt restructuring, a spokesman for its chief executive told Reuters.
