All things considered, 2013 was undeniably a year to celebrate. If Interior Design's Giants numbers and record attendance at our Best of Year and Hall of Fame events is any indication, the design industry is officially out of the red zone. And it came out of the red zone in style, with incredibly inspiring projects ranging from NPR's new offices to the aptly named Hotel Paradox. - 41st Interior Design Competition: This competition celebrates outstanding, innovative work that encourages new ideas and techniques in the design and furnishing of interior spaces.
- 22nd Will Ching Design Competition: Established to celebrate originality and excellence in commercial design from firms with five or fewer employees, this award recognizes progress in the following areas of design: Corporate, Cultural/Education/Institutional, Government, Healthcare, Hospitality and Retail/Showroom.
The deadline to enter is Feb. 14, with judging taking place March 1. Enter today!

Maison & Objet chief hopes for 'Basel effect' in Miami Beach

The managing director of the high-end, international interior design trade show Maison & Objet said at a news conference he hopes the show's newest edition — taking place in Miami Beach in 2015 — will create its own "Basel effect."
