In addition, you will get valuable face time with colleagues from your home state, association CEOs, the ASAE Board of Directors, and other leaders in the association community. For more details on the American Associations Day, visit the Fly-In website.

Onboarding new members is an essential, yet often overlooked, part of the association management process. The likelihood that a new member will engage with your organization – and thus, remain a member of your organization – drops significantly over time. That’s why it’s so important to engage with them upfront.

Remember back when you could use your LinkedIn group to advertise your association’s job postings and feature your products and services for free? Then they cut those features. The Demand Networks
A recent article in the October HBR theorizes on what it takes to survive in a world in which dramatic changes in the nature of competition are re-shaping the future. While association leaders often attribute decline or stagnation to factors such as "inadequate communication," weak marketing or the new generation's aversion to "joining," the truth lies in the same economic and social changes that apply to other sectors.

Event Manager Blog
The event professional role, like most involved in serving people, has become more complicated over the past several years with the increased popularity behind social media and the customization of the customer experience. Voices have become louder, platforms have become larger, and it’s easier for negativity to be heard. Event professionals need to be prepared to handle PR nightmares at conferences. The way in which they’re handled is more important than ever as fallout regarding the solution can be just as critical as the problem itself.

Membership Marketing Blog
The late, great Yogi Berra once said, “If you don’t know where you are going, you might end up someplace else.” His thoughts certainly hold true in membership marketing. Everyone likes a catchy phrase. A leader may have stated a goal like, “20,000 members by the year 2020.” However, the frustration and challenge for many membership marketers is the goal may have been set without understanding the context of what it will take to achieve the goal.
