This year’s sessions will feature briefs on timely issues as well as how best to communicate The Power of Associations to your elected officials. In addition, you will get valuable face time with colleagues from your home state, association CEOs, the ASAE Board of Directors, and other leaders in the association community. You research your mortgage options, your car loan interest rates and schools for your children, but when it comes to our nonprofits, this depth of data and research is sometimes missing. It helps decrease the learning curve for new employees, while increasing efficiency and productivity for the company. But something these programs often miss is arguably one of the most important parts of having a mentor.

Smooth the Path
There’s the old saying that one (something) is better than no (somethings). That adage is mostly true for associations, too. One call to a member is better than no calls to members. Testing one new product or service is better than not testing any new products or services. One new member this week is better than no new members this week. The saying breaks down, however, when we talk about soliciting insights from members.
