Transplant Biomedicals said the first-in-human clinical trial of its kidney transportation device has yielded positive results.
The 32-patient study of Vivian Kidney showed an “excellent safety profile” with no device-related adverse events and no organs being discarded before implantation, the company said. The device was also associated with a low rate of delayed graft function at 30-days with a short duration of DGF and length of hospitalization. Graft and patient survival will be evaluated at one-year post-transplantation.

Using the REIN, we included all PLHIV initiating dialysis in France throughout 2006‐2010 and HIV‐uninfected controls matched for age, sex, year of dialysis initiation, and the existence of a diabetic nephropathy.

However, little is known regarding the RTW rate following heart transplantation or the factors influencing this. The objective of this study was to examine RTW among heart transplant recipients and identify associated predictors.

Lymphangiogenesis is associated with chronic kidney disease and occurs following kidney transplant. Researchers demonstrate that expanding lymphatic vessels in kidneys and corresponding renal draining lymph nodes play critical roles in promoting intrarenal inflammation and fibrosis following renal injury.
