At this point, there probably aren't many boxes of Kraft Mac & Cheese left on America's grocery store shelves that still have the artificial flavors, preservatives and dyes that have been a part of the almost glow-in-the-dark yellow pasta dinner for years.
Since December, the Kraft Heinz Co. has been quietly restocking store shelves with blue boxes filled with pasta and seasonings made using its new recipe. Paprika, annatto and turmeric have replaced yellow dye 5 and 6.

In the mid 1970s, psychologist Merrill Elias began tracking the cognitive abilities of more than a thousand people in the state of New York. The goal was fairly specific: to observe the relationship between people's blood pressure and brain performance. A new study led by the University of Chicago shows that skimping on sleep may make it more difficult to resist the temptation of a midday snack.
"People need to think of adequate sleep as an important aspect of maintaining good health," said Erin Hanlon, Ph.D., lead author of the study and a research associate in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the University of Chicago.

School lunches may be healthier than ever, but that doesn't mean that the kids are eating them. In fact, it was found that 26 percent of the food budget for Boston's middle schools ended up in the trash after students dumped the offered items. Translated into nationwide terms, that amounts to more than $1.23 billion worth of school food per year, according to a study by the non-profit School Nutrition Association. They also found that more than 1 million less kids are opting for school lunches.
