University of Oklahoma to add food truck
ESPN
Oklahoma has found a creative way to make sure it complies with the new NCAA rule that allows athletes to receive unlimited snacks: a food truck. Sooners athletic director Joe Castiglione told ESPN.com that the vehicle the school is in the process of purchasing will serve as a solution to make sure athletes can get what they want when they want it.

Regional Seminars coming in September
NAC
There are two installments of the popular Regional Seminar Series coming up in September. The first is Sept. 16 in Orlando, Florida, and the next is Sept. 24 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The NAC Regional Seminar Series returns with a series of one-day educational programs designed for entry level managers, supervisors and those interested in concessions management. These are a perfect precursor to NAC's Concession Manager Certification Course.

Sour sells in the nonchocolate confections category
Convenience Store Decisions
Overall sales growth for nonchocolate confections topped $10 billion last year, a 3.6 percent increase over the year before, according to the National Confectioners Association. Sales per capita grew from the year prior by 1.9 percent to $32.44 per person. The association predicts that nonchocolate candy sales will grow another $1.8 billion over the next five years.

Jelly Belly brand leaving Chicago

Jelly Belly brand jelly beans will soon no longer be made at the North Chicago factory where they've been produced since 1978. The company said that 70 jobs will be eliminated as it moves production of all Jelly Belly brand candy products to its headquarters in Fairfield, California.

Approximately 1.3 billion tons — or one-third of the food produced around the world each year — is lost or wasted on its way from the farm to the fork. Stadium series: Atlanta's Turner Field

The Atlanta Braves have called Turner Field home since the 1997 season. It was originally built for the 1996 Summer Olympics, when it sat 85,000 people and was called Centennial Olympic Stadium. A big chunk of the facility was removed following the Olympics to create the 49,000 seat Turner Field.

This vending machine bakes 10-inch pizzas in 90 seconds

The makers of the world's first burrito vending machine are turning their attention to pizza. Box Brands, based out of Los Angeles, is developing a machine that will bake a 10-inch pizza in 90 seconds. As consumer confidence soars, businesses scramble to catch up

The U.S. job market is showing signs of warming as small businesses and high-wage jobs are beginning to hire again. In July, the Consumer Confidence Index reached 90.9, the highest level since October 2007, marking the sixth straight month of job gains this year. Along with job gains, consumer spending increased by 0.4 percent in June. The harsh winter, a lagging housing market and inflation all had negative impact on the economy during the first half of the year, but things have heated up along with the weather.
