Firm owned by Yankees, Cowboys will run food service at new Kings arena
The Sacramento Bee
A firm co-founded by the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys will run the food concessions at the new Sacramento Kings arena, but Sacramento-area restaurants will be prominently featured inside the arena as well. The Kings announced that they have hired Legends Hospitality, a high-end food-service and sports marketing company, to operate the food and beverage service at their $477 million downtown arena.

Government relations update: SNAP comments due

2014 World Series will see 1st stadiums in pro sports accepting Apple Pay

One of the most talked of aspects of the iOS8 rollout for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus was Apple Pay, a system that uses industry-standard EMV cryptography to ensure transactions can leverage payment systems throughout the world paperlessly. When incorporated with Apple's additional security features such as Touch ID or a passcode to authorize every payment and tokenization via MDES, the technology giant is hoping that the ease of simply waving your phone for a purchase at places where Apple Pay is setup, coupled with the security measures will turn your iPhone 6 into something more along the lines of a wallet.

Taco Bell is testing a new menu platform that's hotter than hot: About 70 restaurants in the Kansas City, Missouri, market have begun testing Sriracha, the wildly-popular hot sauce — in everything from tacos to nachos. If the test is a hit, the chain is expected to more widely roll-out the Sriracha platform, which is made with the paste of chili peppers and has its origins in Thailand.

America says no to cappuccino potato chips

America has rejected the idea of cappuccino-flavored Lay's potato chips. Frito-Lay says Wasabi Ginger won its contest that gives people a chance to create a new flavor, beating out the coffee-flavored chips and the two other finalists — Mango Salsa and Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese. Parent company PepsiCo Inc. says about 1 million total votes were cast online for the Do Us A Flavor promotion, a sales driver it has launched in more than a dozen countries.

Snacking habits at the center of weight management trends

Two in three consumers said they limit how much they eat when they snack and 62 percent set boundaries on how often they snack.
