Sometimes, new colors can change the sales dynamic even in an economy that could still use a boost and that's what it has done for wood composite and cellular PVC decking manufacturer Fiberon LCC. Without providing production numbers, the privately owned New London, N.C. company said July 7, that it has increased production capacity for its wood composite Horizon line of decking by 300 percent since January and that it has plans for additional expansion. The VAR provides independent, third-party confirmation that Trex's wood-alternative products are manufactured with a minimum of 95.4 percent recycled content. A deck can be energy efficient in several ways. If having a deck allows you to spend more time outdoors, then you should be able to set your central air condition thermostat higher during the primary times you are outdoors. Setting it higher — even for just a few extra hours each day — significantly can cut your electric bills. A properly designed deck with a pergola or some type of tall side wall also can provide shade for your house. This is particularly helpful if it can shade the glass patio door.
