Circulation Resource available to help papers get ready for ABC changes With the second phase of qualification and reporting changes for U.S. newspapers becoming effective later this year, NAA and the Audit Bureau of Circulations want to get members focused on how the changes will affect them. The ABC newspaper support center has been revamped to address the changes. Now dubbed "Q&R Support Center: Preparing for October 2010," the updated hub includes a host of tools to help U.S. newspapers prepare for the last wave of rule changes and report format revisions.
Events Get face time with advertisers at mediaXchange At NAA's mediaXchange, Advertising Roundtables give newspapers the opportunity to meet face-to-face with many of their largest customers. The roundtables provide a venue for newspapers to share their latest market data, update advertisers on new programs and developments, and learn about advertisers' plans and priorities. Participants can move from table to table to listen and ask questions. The information from this session alone more than pays for the investment in mediaXchange. Register now for the April 11-14 conference to take advantage of discounted registration before rates go up on March 5. Events College students needed for NAA Foundation program News Challenge, an innovative training session for upper-level college students interested in digital media, takes place the first week of June. All costs for participating students are paid by the NAA Foundation. Program objectives are to give students a sense of the digital and multimedia opportunities at newspapers and to interest them in working for the industry. The NAA Foundation hopes PRESSTIME Update readers will share this information with local colleges or students working at their newspapers. Deadline to apply for News Challenge is March 1.
