NAA-ABC guide provides in-depth look at verified circulation

Verified circulation, a key category of the Audit Bureau of Circulations' new "total circulation" metric, captures an important and growing slice of the newspaper audience beyond the traditional bounds of paid circulation. Reporting verified circulation also is necessary to convey the total reach of newspapers' product portfolios and multiple sales channels. "NAA-ABC Guide to Verified Circulation" outlines how newspapers are using the new categories to expand and enhance their brands. In addition, it provides an explanation of the different types of verified circulation and gives the details needed to work effectively within the ABC reporting process.

Newspapers face a number of challenges. Business models are changing. Readership is shifting. Staffing limitations pose a particular threat to a newspaper's health. Providing compensation that fits the budget but still attracts, motivates and retains employees adds extra pressure to this delicate balancing act.
