National Conference Chair, Felicia Fullilove, Ph.D. of Spelman
College has been awarded a AAAS Science & Technology Policy
Fellowship (STPF) with a placement at the National Science
Foundation.
Fullilove is among 275 scientists and engineers who will spend a
year serving professionally in federal agencies and congressional
offices. As highly trained scientists and engineers, the U.S.
government benefits from the contributions of STPF fellows, while
they learn first-hand about federal policymaking and implementation.

The science writing class I taught had ended for the day, and one of my students approached me. She was a bright pupil who always turned in good work, and she asked, hesitantly, whether I could write her a recommendation letter for a scholarship.
“Sure!” I said. “I’d be happy to!”
