IRS to close 43 offices nationwide, 3 in New York

The Internal Revenue Service is closing more than 1 million square feet of office space in 43 small offices by 2014 and reducing space in many larger facilities — for an expected savings of $40 million for taxpayers, according to the IRS. In New York, three offices are being closed: Syracuse, Plattsburgh and Massena. More
