Congress OKs voluntary age limit for large 91K, 135 ops

Large fractional operations and charter operations now have the option of establishing a 70-year-old age ceiling for pilots under a little-noticed provision in the omnibus federal spending bill that was adopted late last month. The measure is not mandatory but provides the option of a 70-year-old age limit to Part 91K and 135 operators that logged at least 75,000 jet operations a year in 2019 or any subsequent year.

Problems with the FAA's "vintage" computer system were well-known before it crashed, grounding all flights in the United States for about 12 hours.
The Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) system crashed on the evening of Jan. 10, 2023, due to a damaged database file, according to FAA officials.

Garmin resolves GFC 500 runaway trim issue

"I was an 80's kid, so Top Gun came out, and I wanted to be a fighter pilot, actually," Certuche said.
But Certuche wears glasses — a disqualifier for fighter pilots. Instead, the soft-spoken Texan became an electrician and mechanic — and a good one.
