Aviation Institute of Maintenance, Norfolk campus (AIM) is proud to announce Harry Dugan as a recipient of a $2,500 scholarship awarded by the AMFA. Each year, the AMFA awards two scholarships to Airframe and Powerplant students who stand out for their grades and application essay. AMFA scholarship recipients must be currently enrolled in a program that is designed to prepare you to pass the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) test to obtain an A&P Certification, be U.S. Citizens, and apply with a 500-word essay about safety reporting in the aviation industry.

VIP Completions has been awarded FAA Part 145 certification, clearing the Fort Lauderdale, Florida facility to provide maintenance, inspections, and alterations on aircraft and aircraft accessories.
"This is a major milestone in the strategic plan that we have been working on for several years," said VIP Completions president Ben Shirazi. "The FAA certification process is very rigorous, and successful completion is a testament to our project management, quality control, and compliance standards."

Some airlines warned that they might have laid off 30-50% of their employees without the assistance provided by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The Act’s prohibition of carriers that received payroll support grants laying off workers expires September 30.
Thousands of airline maintenance staff will soon be vulnerable, unless both aid and lay-off prohibitions are extended or carriers can fight their way back to fuller operations by fall.

Aftermarket services provider RUAG MRO International has commissioned a new painting and drying shop for aircraft components in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany.
The shop, which has begun operation following a two-week test phase in June, offers space to paint larger aircraft components such as elevators and rudders, flaps or cabin components. It is located around 18 miles from Munich in Germany's Bavaria region.

Premier Aircraft Service at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE) in Florida has been appointed a service center for maintenance and repair work on Cessna and Beechcraft piston aircraft.
Premier was previously a Cessna authorized service facility from 2016 to 2019. This is the first time the company has been named a Beechcraft authorized service facility.
Premier officials estimate that there are more than 1,600 Cessna and Beechcraft piston owners from Tampa south to the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area.
