Dassault rebrands TAG Maintenance Services

TAG Maintenance Services has been rebranded as Dassault Aviation Business Services (DABS), effective today, the France-based OEM announced. Despite the name change, the company said it is "reconfirming its commitment" to supporting business aircraft manufactured by competing OEMs.
"Customers will see a new name, but the commitment to applying advanced technology and the ultimate in service quality will remain the same as ever," said DABS president Franck Madignier.

SIC logging is focus of FAA investigation into Boutique Air

Boutique Air, a San Francisco-based Part 135 commuter airline and active participant in the Essential Air Service (EAS) market, is in the midst of an FAA investigation into its training and pilot development program (PDP). While there has been no official public acknowledgment of the investigation from Boutique, in late 2021 a letter from CEO Shawn Simpson addressed to the “United States FAA” was posted in numerous online venues.

All-electric aircraft makes first flight

In a historic day for aviation, Eviation Aircraft's all-electric, zero-emission Alice technical demonstrator aircraft had its first flight Sept. 28, 2022.
Powered by two magniX magni650 Electric Propulsion Units (EPUs), the aircraft lifted off at 7:10 a.m. from Grant County International Airport (KMWH) in Moses Lake, Washington, east of Seattle.

Garmin autopilot OK'd for Scouts

Garmin has received FAA Supplemental Type Certification (STC) for the GFC 500 autopilot in the American Champion Aircraft 8GCBC Scout.
The STC applies to Scouts produced in 1991 or later, and aircraft that have been retrofitted with metal spar wings, according to Garmin officials.
