Bolen, Viola join slate of members on FAA AAM panel

The U.S. Department of Transportation appointed 12 new members, representing a cross-section of the industry, to the FAA Advanced Aviation Advisory Committee (AAAC). Among the dozen are National Business Aviation Association president and CEO Ed Bolen, Helicopter Association International president and CEO James Viola, and Blade Air Mobility president and general counsel Melissa Tomkiel.

FAA warns of aviation safety risks without US mandate on 5G limits

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) wants the U.S. telecommunications regulatory agency to ensure a delay in some 5G C-Band transmissions from smaller operators.
Acting FAA Administrator Billy Nolen said the agency wants the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to mandate voluntary mitigations that AT&T (T.N) and Verizon agreed to earlier this year mandated for 19 smaller telecoms and other spectrum holders.

Dassault includes ToughGuard's paint sealant in Mx docs

Honeywell’s 31st annual Global Business Aviation Outlook forecasts up to 8,500 new business jet deliveries worth $274 billion from 2023 to 2032, which is up 15% in both deliveries and expenditures from the same 10-year forecast a year ago.
Unveiled at the 2022 National Business Aviation Association Convention, the forecast aligns with industry reports of sold-out business jet production lines for the next several years, according to Honeywell officials.

Lincoln Electric introduces new MIG welder

Lincoln Electric has introduced the POWER MIG 211i MIG welder, which company officials are calling "a straightforward, dependable 200-amp machine for MIG, flux-cored, and spool gun welding."
The portable welder, which weighs 41 pounds, has a duty cycle of 175 @ 30% and can operate on 120V or 230V input voltage, according to company officials.

Jet East to add North Carolina maintenance facility

MRO provider Jet East is opening a full-service maintenance facility at Statesville Regional Airport (KSVH) in North Carolina using two existing facilities encompassing 115,000 sq ft. This site includes 75,000 sq ft of hangar space, 40,000 sq ft of office and back shop space, and a parcel of adjacent land for future expansion. The Gama Aviation company expects to begin operations at KSVH in the first quarter and create 250 new jobs.
