A Columbus, Ga., teen was no match for five bounty hunters after he pulled a BB gun on one during a robbery, police said. Keivarius Walker, 18, was charged with one count of armed robbery after the holdup. More

Recaptured California man guilty of molesting 3 young relatives

A man who fled San Diego last year and changed his appearance to avoid being prosecuted for molesting three young relatives nine years ago was convicted of multiple counts of committing a lewd act on a child. Patrick Pawlicki, 63, faces life in prison when he is sentenced by Superior Court Judge Louis Hanoian. The Santa Ysabel resident fled last year after being charged. A bail bonds company hired a bounty hunter to track down Pawlicki, and he was arrested at a hotel in Jonesboro, Ga. after an anonymous tip. More

If ever a Volusia County, Fla., suspect skipped bail, it's likely a man in a coat and tie, armed with two guns and handcuffs, was hot on his or her trail. "I've caught my share," said 87-year-old Howard Frank. "I stayed at it no matter how much money it cost until we got 'em." Frank is no cop or FBI agent. Johnson County, Ark., Sheriff Jimmy Dorney announced his office will provide rides for people too drunk to drive and "amnesty" for anyone with an outstanding misdemeanor warrant who reports to police in the month of December. Under the "amnesty program," which Dorney said began in 2007, anyone with a warrant can pay 10 percent of the warrant's bond and be released and assigned a court date. Normally, someone arrested for an outstanding warrant would have to post the full amount of the bond or hire a bail bondsman to be released. More

A Wisconsin drug and alcohol abuse awareness organization will be asking the Lake Country Municipal Court to consider using one of its educational programs as a sentencing alternative in cases involving teenagers cited for underage driving, drunken driving and other related misdemeanors. Hartland Police Chief Robert J. Rosch said he will ask the Operations Sub Committee of the municipal court to consider making a recommendation to the court's Administration Committee about the Detour program offered by Your Choice-Live. More
