Now that the federal government's terrorism insurance backstop has been extended through 2020, supporters are refocusing on what should be done before Congress deals with reauthorization again.
The program, established by the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002 in the wake of the September 2001 U.S. terrorist attacks, lapsed at the end of 2014 when the Senate failed to reauthorize it before adjourning.
Arkansas bill would restrict drones over private land

Using a drone to fly above private property and take pictures without permission would be a crime under a bill filed in the Arkansas Legislature. Republican Rep. Justin Harris' proposal would make it a misdemeanor for a drone operator to have or distribute an unauthorized image. His bill exempts law enforcement and photos taken on public property.

Shallow 4.4 earthquake jars area of Northern California

A shallow earthquake of magnitude 4.4 was reported this morning 16 miles from the small town of Greenfield, California, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake occurred at 5:21 a.m. pacific time at a depth of 5.6 miles.
The earthquake was felt as far away as Fresno, which is about 100 miles to the east, KABC-TV reports.
