Inspection reports lacking at site of Indianapolis fire

Indianapolis fire officials said recently it's possible that businesses that burned in a large warehouse fire hadn't been inspected for safety in six years. The department has been unable to find any inspection reports for 220 S. Belmont Ave., where four businesses went up in flames, and found just one memo from 2007 that referred to a report.

Niota, Tenn., loses liability insurance for 2nd time this year

Niota, in McMinn County, Tenn., is in a familiar situation. The city's liability insurance ran out recently. The Tennessee Municipal League temporarily extended Niota's insurance in April, but it refuses to do it again until changes are made.
City council in Reno, Nev., approves licensing of pedicabs

The Reno City Council in Nevada approved an amendment to the Reno Municipal Code that allows for licensing of pedicabs. Several new sections are included in the ordinance that provide licensing requirements, minimum operating requirements and safety regulations for the operation of pedicabs in the City of Reno.
