Documents obtained by the Reno Gazette-Journal show a tangled web of liability insurance policies linking the Reno National Championship Air Races to policies held by the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, race pilots, subcontractors and event vendors. Insurance experts and aviation lawyers said the complexities of the air races' insurance coverage, in excess of $100 million, will no doubt be unraveled during years of litigation over damage claims.
