D.C. proposals to change workers' compensation system get public hearing

Injured D.C. workers, their advocates and the agency that runs the city’s workers’ compensation program testified before a D.C. Council committee Friday on legislation that would expand access to benefits. The city’s Office of Risk Management earlier this week said 79 workers have been notified they were reaching a 500-week cap on benefits set by the council in 2010.
