All employers must provide employees with health insurance exchange notice by Oct. 1

CPA firm CliftonLarsonAllen has prepared an overview of the requirement, plus links to notices that employers can use to comply.

Veterans show first-time LSU tailgaters how it's done
The Baton Rouge Advocate
The game begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, but by then the tailgaters will have already finished one party on Friday night and should be deep into the extended party that is game day outside Tiger Stadium. This year the revelers will include two first-time couples — the Soudeliers and Collinses — who'll be sharing a 40-foot motorhome and getting tailgating lessons from the Soudeliers' son. "You can always tell the beginners because they look so uncoordinated when they're setting everything up," observed a veteran tailgater parked nearby.

FTC shuts down deceptive ads from 2 auto dealerships
The FTC has charged two auto dealerships with violating federal advertising laws by promoting discounts and prices unavailable to a typical consumer. One of the dealerships was also charged with misrepresenting that vehicles were available at a specific discount, when in reality the discount only applied to a specific and more expensive model. RVDA dealer members should review their own advertising for compliance with federal regulations.

RVers make festival an annual must-see
The Marietta Times
Some folks have discovered that camping out can be a great way to experience Marietta's annual Ohio River Sternwheel Festival. For $75, they can park an RV for the entire weekend within a couple blocks of the Ohio River levee. Even though it's 'dry' camping — no water or electrical hookups — some people reserve spots year after year. "We pay a year in advance for a lot so we can be here during the sternwheel festival," says Wayne Everett, who's been coming for eight years. "We like to listen to the music, watch the fireworks, and visit with friends." He says RVing is much more convenient than having to negotiate festival traffic.

New policy creates happy campers in Colorado
The Aspen Times
Plenty of post Labor Day camping opportunities remain in U.S. Forest Service campgrounds near Aspen, unlike in years past. Campgrounds in the Roaring Fork, Fryingpan and Crystal River valleys will remain open well into September and into the fall in some cases. The concessionaire that operates many of the campgrounds is keeping more facilities open longer, thanks to continued demand from campers.
