From July through September, General Motors’ upscale truck and SUV brand sold 140,789 units, a significant improvement on the 126,417 sales it posted over the same three months in 2018. The federal government recently released data measuring the outdoor recreation industry’s contribution to each state’s gross domestic product. The report shows that outdoor rec’s contribution is larger in four states than the construction industry’s contribution. Outdoor rec is also growing faster than the overall economy. On average, state GDP from outdoor rec increased by 16.6% between 2012 and 2017 while total state GDP increased by 7.5%.
