Rick Horsey of Parkview RV Center in Smyrna, DE, was honored for more than 10 years of service as chairman of the RVDA Education Foundation’s RV Learning Center at a special RVDA reception in Louisville on Nov. 29. Jeff Pastore of Hartville RV Center in Hartville, OH, was elected chairman of the RVDA Education Foundation at the board meeting, also on Nov. 29. Both Pastore and Horsey are past RVDA board chairmen. Horsey

film “RV.” “You have great control of where you want to go or when you want to leave,” he said in a recent interview. “My wife and I are out together with our dogs in the RV. It’s a great way to get around. We can just pull over to sleep at a Wal-Mart, or at RV or truck parks.”

RV sales are on an upswing in Lee County, FL. The RV industry struggled through the downturn, but Tim Lowry, marketing manager for North Trail RV Center, an RVDA member in Fort Myers, FL, said sales are on the rise. The Lee County RV industry was hard hit in 2008, but Lowry’s company started to see business pick up in the third quarter of 2009, even though about half of Florida's RV dealers closed
that year, he said. "The herd was thinned," he said. "What happened was there was a lot of growth in the industry, and the industry has always been give or take."
