The Georgia Institute of Technology Sigma Xi Chapter is seeking nominations for an outstanding educator to receive a $10,000 prize and a symposium featuring the accomplishments of his or her former students. Students who registered for the Student Research Showcase, an online science presentation competition, have through March 26 to submit presentations. Students will submit websites containing an abstract, slideshow, and video about their research projects. Nonstudent members are invited to judge the online competition April 16–April 30.

Member Jui Dave and her colleague Daniel Greif at Yale University led a study that provides insights into the development of neonatal brain hemorrhage, and broadens the scope of therapeutic intervention. The findings are likely to shed light on other brain disorders, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, and aneurysms.
