The Georgia Institute of Technology Chapter selected William Nix, the Lee Otterson Professor of Engineering (Emeritus) of Stanford University, for its 2017 Monie A. Ferst Award. This award has been presented since 1977 to recognize significant contributions to scientific research by an educator in engineering or science. The honor comes with a medal; $10,000; and a symposium on November 16 in Nix's honor.
