Consumerization (i.e. the impact of technology designed first and foremost for consumers) has driven the enterprise mobility market over the last few years, and Ovum has identified the three major trends in mobile consumerization that will have the biggest impact on businesses in 2014.

CIOs opting for IT contractors over hiring full-time staff

The latest Bureau of Labor Statistics data reveals that over the last 12 months, only 77,600 IT jobs were added, as CIOs and hiring managers remain cautious about the slow economic recovery, says Victor Janulaitis, CEO of Janco Associates, a management consulting firm that specializes in IT.
According to the BLS data, September's IT jobs number was adjusted down from a gain of 2,500 jobs to a loss of 3,600 jobs.

Nor was it problems with complexity, procurement and testing that led to the less than perfect launch of Healthcare.Gov, Evan said. The bottom line was: It was a management failure caused by policy officials. "They did this to themselves," she said.
