Also Announced...
In yesterday's opening session, SLAS leaders provided a state of the Society address that touched on several important accomplishments and plans for the future. Outgoing President Richard Eglen and Incoming President Scott Atkin collaborated to recognize Board members completing their tenure (Alastair Binnie, Richard Eglen, Mike Snowden) and welcome new members (Alan Fletcher, Cathy Tralau-Stewart, Steve Young). "SLAS is proud to count members from over 110 countries and is a welcoming community that has no borders, either real or imagined,” said SLAS President Scott Atkin. “All we ask of members is that they bring an open mind and a willingness to engage in productive discourse with fellow members to transform research and advance life sciences."

The inaugural class of SLAS Fellow Members was announced, several program updates were presented, and the SLAS2017-2021 Strategic Plan was introduced publicly for the first time. For additional information about SLAS programs, membership and financial standing, check out the 2016 SLAS Annual Report in SLAS ELN.
