Attendees were given the opportunity to take selfies with the new manikin and enjoy lunch from a local food truck brought to campus for the event. Nursing Anne Simulator is a manikin that offers students realistic practice on core nursing skills. Students are able to apply patient care procedures in a safe environment for improvement in their nursing education.

Washington State University Health Sciences in Spokane is eyeing an expansion that includes building a virtual hospital and expanded capacity to conduct clinical research. The university seeks to build a new health science building with clinical simulation suites and more research labs, as well as a virtual hospital to give medical students an opportunity to shadow physicians and gain real world experience. "This is a recognition of the trajectory of WSU Health Sciences Spokane and the path we are already on," said Daryll DeWald, vice president for WSU Health Sciences and chancellor for WSU Health Sciences Spokane.
