The M&G Group announced plans to build a PET plant in the U.S. Gulf Coast region. This manufacturing facility will be co-located and fully integrated with a new purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at the same site, creating approximately 250 jobs, with an additional 700 indirect positions and 3,000 jobs during construction. Packaging supplier Weidenhammer says group sales increased 27.6 percent to €215 million in 2010. "We are pleased with our financial results - especially in light of the global economic crisis that clearly had an impact on our company in 2009", CEO Ralf Weidenhammer said in a statement. "The company's positive financial results show that our business strategy is on the right track and that our investment in production facilities, staff, research & development and new markets pays off.” More
