Sugar Land City Council approved on Sept. 21 a tax abatement agreement with Accredo Packaging, Inc. and API Realty, LLC. The agreement will provide a tax abatement on new real property improvements and personal property for a planned 171,000-square-foot expansion of Accredo Packaging's manufacturing facility in the Sugar Land Business Park. Malaysia's GW Plastics Holdings Berhad is investing RM37.2 million ($12 million) on expanding production capacity by 34 percent to meet increasing business orders. GW would commission a recently acquired blown film extruder by the end of this month and put in operation a cast film extruder by early next year, said CEO Lim Kok Boon, in a prospectus launched in conjunction with the company's initial public offering.
