Helmet safety awareness campaign
#mindyourmelon and wear a helmet every time, every ride.

Riders4Helmets is sponsoring a Helmet Awareness Day Saturday, July 12. In recognition of the day, equestrian retailers around the globe will be offering a discount on equestrian helmets. If you are in the market for a new helmet the time is ripe for you to #mindyourmelon and to take advantage of this offer on July 12.

Pony Club, in support of the Riders4Helmets International Helmet Awareness Campaign, encourages all you Festival goers as well as all other Pony Club members to post videos and photos of yourselves properly wearing your helmets on the Pony Facebook wall using the hash tags: #mindyourmelon and #ponyclubselfie. Have some fun with this and post photos of teammates as well. Support your discipline and lets see which discipline comes up with the most posts! For all you non-Festival goers, show yourselves off wearing your helmets with your mounts and friends wherever you may be. Keep those photos and videos coming and have a safe ride!

The Dorothy Renfro Memorial Award for Excellence in Leadership
It only took one voice, one hand, one heart and one passion to make an impact on dozens of lives. Dorothy Renfro was not only the founder of Crescent Bay Pony Club, but also the founder of making dreams come true in many horse lovers’ hearts. She built muscles, dedication, knowledge and most of all, character. When she had her mind set on something she wanted to achieve, nothing was going to stop her. Dorothy’s knowledge in horses was very broad, but her wisdom was unsurpassed. She was never afraid to take on a challenge. Dorothy was a born leader so building a strong club, being a Club DC, and Old Dominion Regional Supervisor came naturally.
