If you are looking for a parade, a Flags Across America event, or other community activities, here are some of the most anticipated Veterans Day celebrations for 2018. For example, Auburn, Washington, is home to one of the largest parades for Veterans Day to be held anywhere. More than 6,000 parade participants, including 200 military units and over 30 high school marching bands will be in attendance.

Westmoreland County Veterans' Affairs Director Matt Zamosky said federal authorities raised the asset limit for those seeking benefits for a non-service based disability from $80,000 to $123,600.

Averitt Express announced in October a new on-the-job training diesel mechanic program for military veterans and family members with Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits.
The program is part of the East Tennessee-based carrier's commitment to hire 1,200 additional veterans by 2020.
Individuals selected for the new diesel mechanic program will be trained by Averitt's shop leaders, maintenance coordinators and experienced technicians on everything from basic computer skills to assisting with in-depth repair on tractor/trailers. The program offers paid clock hours, raises based on experience level and an option for a four-day work week.

Veterans of all service periods fared better in the workforce in October compared to the previous month, even as unemployment among nonveterans remained stagnant, the latest federal data show.
The veteran unemployment rate fell from 3.4 to 2.9 percent last month, the lowest it’s been since October 2017, according to Bureau of Labor and Statistics figures released.
