But what podiatrists don’t want is to have to force their workflow and diagnoses into a system built for traditional physicians. With that in mind, McKesson has developed a set of podiatric-specific templates within McKesson’s EHR solutions, which will improve podiatric specific workflow and facilitate more accurate documentation.

These templates were validated by members of the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and delve into the necessary detail that podiatrists need to diagnose the tiny yet very distinctive bones in the foot and ankle.

Podiatrists can qualify for EHR system incentives under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).  By enabling quick, accurate and complete documentation for patients, McKesson’s EHR solution and podiatric templates can position podiatrists to demonstrate meaningful use.
